College Degree

Book Stop

There are a few books that I strongly suggest you buy if you will be using credit by examination to accelerate your college degree. These are very inexpensive compared to regular college textbooks and can be purchased at a discount at Amazon. You can also check your local used book store or public library for copies. Click on the links for more details.

CLEP Official Study Guide -Descriptions and sample questions and answers for all 35 exams published by the College Board.

Cracking the CLEP - Doesn’t try to teach you everything there is to know about every subject, only what that you need to score higher on the CLEP General exams (English, Math, Humanities, Natural Sciences, Social Sciences.

The Essentials Book Series - Great series of books for less than $8 each. I used these for DSST exams such as Business Law II, Money and Banking, General Antropology.

Get College Credit DSST the Official Test-Preparation Guide - Great value. For under $15 you can study for eight Dantes exams.

One of the greatest values I’ve found are the “Complete Idiot’s Guide” and “. . . For Dummies” book series. I look for them on all subjects I am studying. They are easy to read and generally have the information you are looking for in a somewhat condensed package at a reasonable price. Search Amazon to see if your subject is available.

I’ll be adding to these reguarly. Please let me know of any guides you have found to be useful (or not particularly useful) and I will update the list with your recommendations and comments.
